WHAT IS DIALYSIS?
Dialysis is a treatment used when the kidneys are not able to clean the blood properly.
Healthy kidneys remove waste, extra water and unwanted salts from the body. When kidney function becomes very low, dialysis may be needed to do part of this work.
Dialysis is usually advised for patients with severe kidney failure or advanced chronic kidney disease.
